I love North Pole. It has been my home since 1989. We raised our five children here, they attended North Pole Elementary School, North Pole Middle School and graduated from North Pole High School. For sixteen years I gave back to this great community serving on the city council and as mayor. Now, a decade later, I am able to serve once again on the North Pole City Council. These are exciting times for North Pole as new neighborhoods are developed adding more houses and apartments as we welcome the arrival of families supporting the two squadrons of F-35’s at EAFB. I am a team player and will use my years of public service and professional experience to help the city in any way possible. In fact, I believe that I am real asset sharing insight and best practices between the two great cities in the Fairbanks North Star Borough and the borough itself having served as the chief of staff for the Borough and City of Fairbanks and as the Public Works Director for the City of Fairbanks. I consider it a great honor to serve as a North Pole City Councilmember.

I was born in Palmer and have lived my entire life in Alaska. Growing up in Ketchikan and Fairbanks and raising a family here in North Pole. I graduated from UAF with a B.Ed., BYU M.Ed., and UAA Master’s in Educational Leadership.  I taught Sixth Grade at North Pole Middle School for 27 years, retiring to work for Borough Mayor Luke Hopkins and Fairbanks City Mayor John Eberhart as their Chief of Staff.  I currently work as the Director of Public Works for the City of Fairbanks. I am active in the community serving on the North Pole Area Housing Authority Board (30 years), Festival Fairbanks Board, Fairbanks Parking Authority Board and as Executive Secretary in my church. In the past I have served as the president of the North Pole Community Chamber of Commerce, Arctic Winter Games International Director for Alaska, 2014 Arctic Winter Games Host Society Board President, Alaska International Senior Games Board President, BSA Scoutmaster, and as a missionary in Chile.
