Request for Proposals for Doughchee Avenue Rehabilitation & Drainage Project: 2021
Friday, July 2, 2021 - 11:00am
Bid/RFP Status:
Cancelled
The City of North Pole has released a Request for Proposals for a road rehabilitation project. Between Badger Road and the Doughchee Avenue Bridge, this section of road annually experiences significant deformation damaging the asphalt. There is also significant erosion occurring to the bridge abutments due to stormwater runoff from Badger Road and adjacent commercial parking lots. This short section of road was repaved in 2017 as part of a FMATs project but this section of road is possibly the worst short section of road in the City. The work proposed for Doughchee Avenue is to address underlying problems with the road base, better manage stormwater runoff and reduction of sediment and pollution discharges to the Beaver Springs Slough. Funding for the project comes from City of North Pole General fund and the Fish and Wildlife Service/Fairbanks Soil and Water Conservation District.
